On March 29, CDPO held a virtual meeting with representatives from 20 regional DPOs to discuss challenges and opportunities in accessing free-of-charge health care for persons with disabilities. The meeting aimed to provide recommendations on the free-of-charge health care policy in Cambodia that will be discussed further with government representatives at the next meeting organized by CDPO. Although the Cambodia Ministry of Health issued this policy in 2015 to expand accessible health care services to persons with disabilities, the availability of these services has remained difficult to access. Prominent recommendations from the meeting include the request for relevant institutions and the Ministry of Social Affairs to pay close attention to the health services of persons with disabilities as well as recommending the establishment of a committee consisting of the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Ministry of Health and DPOs to focus on health care for persons with disabilities.
