On August 6, General Election Network for Disability Access (AGENDA) partner, the Myanmar Independent Living Initiative (MILI), hosted an orientation meeting in Yangon to sensitize MILI staff and guests from other disabled people’s organizations (DPO) on the ASEAN Enabling Masterplan 2025: Mainstreaming the Rights of with Disabilities (Masterplan). The meeting was attended by 35 MILI staff, 22 of which were women, and 13 external DPO representatives. The workshop included a brainstorming session in which participants discussed ways to advocate for the implementation of the Masterplan, proposing options such as meetings with the Ministry of Social Welfare Relief and Settlement and advocacy workshops with CSOs, international non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and township-level stakeholders.
