On December 2, General Election Network for Disability Access (AGENDA) organized a virtual coordination meeting for organizations of persons with disabilities (OPD) to exchange information and insight on advancing regional disability inclusion in the post-COVID-19 context. A total of 30 OPD participants including 14 female participants from Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, and Vietnam participated in the meeting. Participants identified four key issues for persons with disabilities in Southeast Asia which include access to health, employment, education and social protections. OPDs developed 42 recommendations on ensuring disability inclusion post-COVID-19. Each recommendation was paired with a key action point of the ASEAN Enabling Masterplan 2025. The recommendations were to be presented at the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) consultation workshop on December 3.
