On April 28, General Election Network for Disability Access (AGENDA) partner Cambodian Disabled People’s Organization (CDPO) held its second roundtable talk show titled “Understanding the Existing Health Care Systems and Policies in Cambodia: A Reflection on the Implementation of Inclusive Health Care Services.” Speakers featured Ms. Ven Champamony, a medical expertise consultant and Mr. Chhorn Sovandeth, Executive Director of Kratie Disabled People Organisation from Kratie Province. Mr. Sovandeth highlighted the Cambodian Ministry of Health’s work to ensure that persons with disabilities can access health care services free of charge. However, in practice, some departments still do not provide accessible facilities for persons with disabilities and face discrimination from medical staff. In addition, service providers need more training to acquire sufficient knowledge and increase their capacity to provide comprehensive health services for persons with disabilities. The discussion was aired live on the Voice of Persons with Disabilities (VPD) TV online and Facebook page.
